After almost 20 years, Electool Hungary Ltd.’s name has been transformed: the company continues to operate as Fluenta Europe Ltd. We have interviewed CEO, Ákos Szabó about the motives behind the name change and the company’s future goals.

Why has the name of Electool Hungary Ltd. been changed? What is the significance of the new name? Is there an underlying message?

19 years ago, when this company was founded, our main profile was procurement expertise, consultancy, and project management. However, creating Fluenta has gradually transformed this, and now we regard ourselves entirely as a software company supporting mainly (but not exclusively) procurement professionals. Our name change aims to formulate a clean and simple message: upon encountering the word ‘Fluenta’, we wish everyone to associate this name with both our company and our software. This line of communication is also applicable to our international goals.

How do you envision the future of Fluenta Europe Ltd.? What are your short- and long-term goals?

We are working on strengthening our international presence. (We have customers in 57 countries at the moment.) Our aim is to further develop our remote sales processes. This has been preceded by a lot of development: our software has been restructured and transferred to a new platform that enables us to provide excellent service and install high quality quick access systems virtually in remote locations, even on other continents.

Additionally, our aim is to support areas besides procurement with our software. Thus, we would optimize Fluenta not only for procurement, but also for supply. One of our most important objectives is enhancing cooperation between the two.

What is the secret of Fluenta’s success?

We have been focusing on a market segment (buyers, purchasing managers, procurement processes) that has constantly been neglected and is still not paid much attention by the greatest companies. Our goal has been to be better than these organizations and software solutions. We do not simply put our software at our customers’ disposal but provide additional consultation and support for its use on multiple levels, since it is also in our best interest to help our customers become as successful as possible.

How would you describe Fluenta? What assistance does it provide and to whom?

In the past, Fluenta supported mainly those that considered cost under control the most important driver of procurement. At present and in the future, it will be able to assist those that find process under management more important. From a sales perspective, it supports mainly those that wish to transact business in a more efficient and transparent way.

How can you maintain constant progress?

Our continuous development is maintained by our curiosity: we are interested in new trends and technologies, which we share with our customers through our services.
